Operatives of the Edo state police command have rescued seven kidnapped passengers in the Owan East LGA, Edo state.
The report had it that the passengers of a Toyota Sienna bus were kidnapped by gunmen along Afuze Iheivbe Auchi road on Tuesday, May 2.
Two of the passenger were, however, rescued last week by the police with joint force with the local vigilante after four days of bush combing, while seven others are rescued on Saturday, May 6, bringing the total to nine.
The spokesperson of the state police command, Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident and made the development of the incident known on Monday, May 8.
The PPRO said the victims were rescued on Saturday by the combined security team.
“Seven victims, four males and three females were rescued by the police on Saturday during bush combing by the security team. All the kidnapped victims have been rescued,” he said.
Nwabuzor said only nine(9) victims were abducted by the kidnappers as against the twelve(12) passengers reports in the media.
