A butcher based in Warri, Delta state reportedly stabbed his wife to death.
The incident occurred on 13th April where an unidentified butcher murdered his wife in the act of self-defense.
The matter is before police jurisdiction while the suspect is cooling his heels in the police cell.
According to the suspect, He tried to scoop hot water from fire to bathe after a long day from the market where he butchers and sell meat, However his wife refused and ask him not to torch the gas claiming he didn’t perform his right by giving them money for upkeep or to fill the gas at home .
The suspect reportedly ignored his wife and went straight to the gas to scoop the hot water .
The scenario escalated, resulting the deceased wife rush a knife with the motive to stab her husband who in turn overpowered her, collected the knife and used same to stab her severally until she collapsed.
At that point, the suspect rushed his wife to a private hospital for treatment where she died.
Pained by the development , his daughter rushed to the nearest police station and reported the matter and the suspect was immediately arrested .
