Adepoju Sunday, owner of De Rock club in Ibadan also known by the alias SSG was arraigned before Justice Uche Agomoh of the Federal High court sitting in Oyo state.

He was arraigned on Wednesday, March 29 following his involvement in cybercrime.

Spokesperson of the Economic and Financial crimes commission(EFCC), Wilson Uwajuren made it known that Adepoju was arrested on August 31st,2022, alongside 21 other suspected internet fraudsters, in an intelligence-driven operation carried out by the operatives of its Ibadan Zonal command.

The 36-year-old, Adepoju, from investigation, claimed he graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago Iwoye, Osun state with the discipline Industrial chemistry.

The business owner allegedly swindled the American government and unsuspecting American citizens thousands of dollars during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He was arrested with a 2020 Range Rover HSE sports Utility Vehicle, an iPhone 13 Pro Max and HP laptop, The anti-graft agency said the defendant was arraigned on two separate charges for his alleged involvement in cybercrime and obtaining money under false pretense to the tune of N31,821,000.

Adepoju pleaded ‘not guilty’ when the charges were read to him. Consequently, the prosecution counsel, Mabas Mabus asked for a trial date pending the determination of the case.

The Federal High court sitting in Oyo, Justice Agomoh, therefore adjourned the case till April 18 for ruling and ordered that the defendant be remanded in Agodi correctional facility.

Lagos state driver, Oluwaseun Osinbajo, was apprehended and handed over to the police for investigation and possible prosecution by the state over manslaughter.

The incident happened on March 9, where a Lagos state staff bus collided with a train at the PWD railway crossing at Ikeja.

Records have it that the unfortunate incident resulted in 6 fatalities with about 96 others with various degrees of injuries. The victims involved in the unfortunate incident were hospitalized across many government Hospitals in the state.

The Lagos state government however set to arraign the driver for driving recklessly and for the havoc caused.

Upon the receipt and review of the case file forwarded to D.P.P for statutory actions. A prima-facie case of manslaughter and Grievous Body Harm was disclosed against the driver of the bus.

The state ministry of Justice released a statement which says Osinbajo is to be charged with 6 counts Manslaughter and 10 counts of Grievous Body harm .The Ministry says both offenses are contrary to sections 224 and 225 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state,2015.

“The office of the D.P.P will immediately charges against the Driver. However, his arraignment before the High Court of Lagos state shall be delayed until he is fully fit to stand trial, having sustained serious injuries during the accident.”

A 35-year-old man, Tunde Abioye who is known for misconduct and hooliganism has been arrested by Operatives of the Amotekun corps, for terrorizing Ileogbo residents in Ayedire Local Government area of Osun state.

It was made known by Operative corps commander, Brig -Gen Bashir Adewinmbi(RTD) while addressing the media, he stated

“The suspect hoodlum was arrested on Friday after a complaint was lodged at Ayedire Local Government command that the suspect was unleashing terror assaults on the innocent people of Ileogbo and also destroying their properties and our men swung into action shortly after the complaint was made and the culprit was arrested and a single barrel gun was found on him at the time of his arrest” He added

” The suspect was also alleged of causing violence during the last presidential election in the town by shooting at the people who wanted to exercise their civil responsibility and he was planning to disrupt the House of Assembly election on Saturday before he was arrested. During the investigation, he admitted to perpetrating the act.

Brig-Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi said the suspect has been handed over to the police for advancement in their investigation and interrogation, he then seize the medium to appeal to the public to always disseminate information that would help curb crime and criminality.

Chief Gbenga Okotore from the Okutu-Ope community, Ilesa, in Osun state was killed by gunmen suspected to be assassins.

The incident occurred on Thursday, March 16, 2023, which was confirmed by the police spokesperson SP Yemisi Opalola.

It was gathered that the victim was shot by the attackers at a close range.

According to an eyewitness, who is a resident of the area, he gave account of the whole scenario leading to the demise of the victim.

It was reported that the armed men reportedly shot sporadically into the air before taking out their target.

The eyewitness added the deceased might have been trailed to the spot where he was killed, He proceeded saying, Sound of gunshots was heard when the incident happened, but no one could deem it fit to move closer to the scene, for the fear of not being killed too.

However, SP Yemisi Opalola upon confirming the incident, assured those living in the community ensuring swift action is taken and the perpetrators of the act will soon be apprehended.
