BurnaBoy in a post shared on his instastories that he has never benefited from the government and that all the good he does for the country is from his pocket, heart, time, and emotion not in any way for social media affirmations.

Kogi vibrant lawmaker dies in lagos hospital.

The member representing Yagba in the Kogi state House of Assembly, Hon. Jimoh Omitata is dead.

A family member confirmed his demise. He said the state lawmaker died in Lagos from an undisclosed ailment he has been battling for a while.

Omiata hails from the Igbagun community in Yagba local government of Kogi state. He was a two-term member of the state House of Assembly, and the first person to ever win election twice to the house from the council area.

According to the chief press secretary of the state House of assembly. Speaker Femi Olugbemi as well confirmed his death and release in his statement;

Very sad, we lost a vibrant, articulate, and outstanding lawmaker, Hon. Musa Jimoh Omiata, I sympathize with his immediate family, traditional rulers, and people of Yagba East State Constituency, may Allah grant his soul perfect rest.”

Oluomo shot dead by security agent at Ondo INEC’s collation centre.

A prominent member of a leading political party in Idanre Local government in Ondo state, Mr. Akinlabi Akinnaso popularly known as Oluomo was killed by a security agent at INEC’s collation centre, Owenna Adetoro Idanre.

Akinnaso was allegedly involved in rancor with the armed personnel while the certificate of Return was about to be given to the winner of the House of Representatives election, Hon. Festus Akingbaso Fessywest, the incumbent Member of Ondo state House of Assembly representing Idanre local government area constituency.

The collation exercise was delayed for hours following his killing. However, according to one of the party member statements, He said his corpse has been deposited in the General Hospital mortuary, in Idare Ondo state.

The police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami pleaded to be given time to investigate the matter, stating further the report is heard but yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile the state police commissioner, Oyeyemi Oyediran advised people of the state to maintain peace before the general elections results are released.

 

Millions of naira goods lost as Maiduguri market catches fire.

A fire outbreak has razed several shops with goods worth millions of naira at the central Maiduguri Monday market.

Sources had it that the incident occurred around 3 am. As records have it, no casualty was recorded as fire fighter battled to put off the fire.

The cause of the inferno is unknown, as hundreds of shops were reported to have been razed down during the fire outbreak.

Hundreds of the affected traders were seen struggling to quench the fire while some are helpless.

According to an eyewitness, some of the affected structures consumed by the fire included boutiques, poultry,  essential commodities shops, and many others.

Borno state Governor, Professor Babaganda Umara Zulum visited the scene but was pelted with stones by angry youth and traders despite the tight security attached to him.

Speaking with the press, the Governor expressed how disheartening he felt as regards the fire incident. He then announced an emergency relief fund of one billion naira to support the victim pending assessment of the incident.

Security operatives had been mobilized to secure the area to prevent a breakdown of law and order.

2023 presidential elections: Benue state PDP governorship campaign DG arrested by EFCC with cash.

The Economic and Finacial crimes commission (EFCC) has arrested the Director General of the people Democratic Party (PDP) over the possession of N 100, 000 cash.

It was recalled, the governorship campaign council in Benue state Dr. Cletus Tyokyaa was apprehended earlier today by the financial crime agency for hoarding cash.

Benue state Governor Samuel Ortom however made the disclosure while speaking with the press shortly after casting his vote in his hometown Gbajimba in Guma local governments area. He said,

” I received report from the DG of our campaign that he had been arrested this morning by EFCC for having N100,000 on him. What is that? Are they the agent of destabilization? It is a shame. Why should they pick up somebody because of N100,000? I want to tell the EFCC to release him immediately. I have more than N100,000 on me but I’m not buying votes and he was not buying votes “the governor said angrily.

Labour party presidential candidate Peter Obi and wife cast their votes in Agulu,Anambra state.

Peter Obi the Labour party (LP) presidential candidate and his wife Margaret exercise their franchise by casting their vote at his polling unit in Agulu ward 2, Anaocha local government area LGA of Anambra.

The exercise was carried out in the morning around 11.41 am amid cheers from his supporters to cast his vote.

While having an interview with the press, Obi the presidential candidate said in his statement;

“it is by God’s grace that I am here. The first thing that I will do if I win is to thank God. I just want to serve the people. I want to show compassion. I want to help people out of poverty”, he said.

The supporter of the party feels relieved while giving their perspectives and views from the Labour party (LP) presidential candidate’s statement.

Mr. Joseph said in an interview conducted by a media crew member, he believed in Mr. Obi’s administration, stating further, His manifesto and plans for the state are great. He said he is the best candidate and the right man to drive Nigeria to his destination.

 

 

Court seizes #400m and multibillion naira properties linked to Kogi government .

Kogi government under the administration of Kogi state Governor Yahaya relations to forfeit multi-billion naira properties in Lagos, Abuja, and Dubai over fraud and money laundry.

A Federal high court sitting in Lagos has granted an order of interim forfeiture of 14 properties in Lagos, Abuja, and Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. All are linked to the Kogi state government.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo granted the following order following an exparte application filed and argued by counsel to the Economic and financial crimes commission(EFCC) senior advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo.

Oyedepo further told the court the N400m was reasonably suspected to have been derived from unlawful activity.

While he informed the judge that the properties, including one in the world’s tallest building Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE worth multibillion in naira are gathered through fraudulent means.

However the Kogi state government in a statement by its commissioner for information and communication, Kingslpermanentey Fanwo described the development as a campaign of calmny against the state by the EFCC Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa.

The judge also directed the EFCC to publish the order within 14 days for any interested party to show cause why the forfeiture order should not be made permanent.

 

Voodoo man along with 21 others arrested for terrorrism and armed robbery in Edo.

A 65-year-old man known for doing charm was caught red-handed along with 21 other suspects for unlawful acts and robbery in Edo.

The state police command spokesman Chidi Nwabuzor disclosed in his statement that the suspects were arrested following their cases of illegal possession of firearms and armed robbery.

According to the command spokesman, Chidi Nwabuzor said the suspect arrest was made by the command surveillance team on January 31.

He added, the notorious gang uses black Lexus SUV and Mercedes GLK when going for their modus operandi.

Nwabuzor also said the exhibit received from the suspects are locally made guns with nine live cartridges and pump action gun.

He also note the suspects confessed to unlawfully having robbed many of their possession and as well rob people between Auchi and Benin in Edo.

While the investigation is still ongoing the PPRO added, the suspects will face the wrath of the law.

Medical doctor arrested in Kwara for murder and human organ harvesting.

A former chief medical Director(CMD), Dr. Abass Adio Adeyemi was arrested for murder and organ harvesting by the Kwara police command. The former C.M.D. was paraded and arrested after close watch of his unlawful act leading to evil atrocities perpetrated by him.

The suspect hails from the Offa local government area of Kwara state and was the former chief medical Director (CMD) of the government-owned Kaiama general hospital, Kaima local government area, Kwara state.

The serial killer confessed after his arrest, giving counts of his victims. it was made known the decomposed bodies of two missing women were found buried in a shallow grave in the doctor’s office.

He confessed to the killing of a cab driver, Emmanuel Yobo Agbovinuere while having him interrogated. He said he killed the victim in Benin city Edo state and disposed off his corpse at Otofure community Benin-Lagos highway and ran off with the deceased ‘s vehicle.

Speaking about his arrest, the commissioner of police, Paul Odama said all the evil perpetrators involves will be brought to book.  He also states The police command is closing in on other members of the syndicate involved in the crime.

Further speaking, the police commission gave names of the victims that met their untimely death from the 39 years old doctor.

According to the CP, the suspect allegedly sedate most of his victims before having them killed and thereafter harvesting their organs.

While in search for the Doctor, following a lead case connected to his atrocities. He was arrested at Edo on the charge of human slaughter.

Exhibits recovered from him are One infinix phone, One Tecno phone, Toyota Camry LE.Reg No WSW 494 AA. One pink and black female handbags, a female wig, and female pant.

Odama added, he would soon be charged to court, while the investigation is still on going to unravel his other syndicate involved in harvesting human organs.
